Teachers for a New Era (TNE) emphasizes reliance upon empirical evidence as the only sound basis for radical transformation of university-based teacher education. When a culture of evidence takes hold, how are teacher education programs and their faculty changed? What new assumptions and practices guide their work? This session examined how TNE and Learning Network institutions are using evidence for changes in programs, courses, clinical experiences, and assessment strategies.
Panelists included Mari Koerner (Arizona State University), Robert Tobias (New York University), Marijke Kehrhahn (University of Connecticut), Joanne Bogart (University of Texas at El Paso), and Hilda Rosselli (Western Oregon University).
